Serpentine Chain Necklace
Rich Russian Serpentine is mixed with New China Jade and silver plated chain for a breezy necklace you're sure to love wearing with just about anything. Finished length is 20.5" or 22.75" with the dangle.

Materials:

1 Pkg. S/P 2" Thick Head Pins (#50586) Qty:
1 Pkg. S/P 2" Thick Eye Pins (#50594) Qty:
1 Pkg. S/P Hook and Eye Clasp (#50132) Qty:
2 Feet S/P Oval and Round Link Chain (#62023) Qty:
Tools you will need (change quantity to 1 if you need them):
Flat Chain Nose Pliers (#51016) Qty:

Directions:
Step 1. Onto each of 4 Eye Pins, place a 6mm Round, a Heishi, an 8mm Round, a Heishi, and a 6mm Round. (These will be Eye Pins #1).
Step 2. For each of the 4 Eye Pins, using Flat Nose Pliers, bend the excess wire 90°. Make a loop with the excess wire, and close tightly. Set aside.
Step 3. Onto each of 2 Eye Pins, place a 6mm Round, a Heishi, a Russian Serpentine Rectangle, a Heishi, and a 6mm Round. (We will call these, Eye Pins #2).
Step 4. Repeat Step 2.
Step 5. Onto a Head Pin, place a Heishi, a Russian Serpentine Rectangle, a Heishi, and a 6mm Round.
Step 6. Repeat Step 2.
Now we’re going to put it all together…
Step 7. Cut 6 lengths of Chain. Each will measure about 1 ¾”. Each length of Chain should look like this: 1 large oval link (End A), 1 figure 8 link, 1 circle link, 1 figure 8 link, 1 large oval link, 1 figure 8 link, and 1 circle link (End B).
Step 8. Take one of your lengths of Chain and onto End A, attach one end of the Clasp by twisting open a Jump Ring and inserting the oval link of the Chain and the loop of one end of the Clasp. Twist the Jump Ring closed.
Step 9. At End B, of the piece of Chain you are working with, twist open a Jump Ring and insert the circle link and one of Eye Pins #1. Twist the Jump Ring closed.
Step 10. Twist open a Jump Ring and insert the loop from the opposite end of the attached Eye Pin #1 and another piece of Chain at End A. Twist the Jump Ring closed.
Step 11. Twist open a Jump Ring and insert End B and the loop from the end of one of Eye Pins #2. Twist the Jump Ring closed.
Step 12. Twist open a Jump Ring and insert the loop from the other end of the attached Eye Pin #2 and another piece of Chain at End A. Twist the Jump Ring closed.
Step 13. Repeat Step 9. Set aside.
Let’s work on the other side of the necklace.
Step 14. Repeat Step 8 using the other end of the Clasp.
Step 15. Repeat Steps 9-13.
Now, you should have 2 finished lengths of Chain with all your Eye Pins attached into them.
Step 16. Cut a piece of Chain that measures about 1”. This cut piece of Chain will look like this: 1 circle link, 1 figure 8 link, and 1 large oval link.
Step 17. Twist open a Jump Ring and place it into the circle link of this piece of Chain.
Step 18. Now insert the Jump Ring into the loop of the end of one of Eye Pins #1 (from one of your finished pieces of Chain) and twist the Jump Ring closed.
Step 19. Twist open a Jump Ring and place it into the other side of the circle link of the 1” piece of Chain.
Step 20. Repeat Step 18, using the other piece of completed Chain.
Step 21. Onto the oval link of your 1” piece of Chain, attach your Head Pin, by twisting open a Jump Ring and inserting the loop of Head Pin and then twisting the Jump Ring closed. Enjoy!
